Our Story
We met in high school back in the Philippines. He was a video game enthusiast while she dreamed of becoming a published author one day. We had our own little world separate from one another but we would always somehow find ourselves getting close to each other on numerous occasions since we were, after all, part of the same group of friends.
In 2009, Mico and his family moved to the US while Trisha finished her degree in computer science in the Philippines.
While in the US, Mico, a former atheist, found Jesus and joined a church in Baltimore, MD. A few years later, he would go back to the Philippines to visit and meet with his friends, including Trisha. He shared with them the Gospel and Trisha was one of the few that responded and accepted Jesus Christ in her life.
Unfortunately, the seed didn’t take root in Trisha’s life and she became swayed and swept away by her emotions and worldly feminist views. She went through a dark period in her life and sought after validation through relationships.
As luck would have it, Trisha was offered a job in the US and she eventually left the Philippines to live in New York much later on.
In November of 2015, Trisha came to visit Mico in Maryland for Thanksgiving and our friendship was rekindled. Trisha accepted Jesus back into her life in January 2016 and her life was changed from then on.
Our friendship eventually bloomed into something more and Mico eventually proposed. We got married in the summer of 2017 and have been serving the Lord together ever since.
We are far from perfect and our story is also not perfect but it is made perfect by The One who brought us together…The One who gave us and continues to give us a hope and future.
